DC Ramban inspects sinking road at Hirnihal Khari, directs IRCON Railway to immediately start restoration work

Ramban, January 31: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam alongwith concerned officers today visited sinking area of Nachalana to Khari Mandakbas road at Hirnihal,  Khari.

Sub-divisional Magistrate, Banihal, Zaheer Abbas Bhat, Executive Engineer, PWD, Vinod Gupta and officers and Engineers of IRCON Railway were also present on the occasion.

Taking cognizance of a public issue, the DC, Islam visited the spot and after hearing all concerned persons including SDM, DDC Councilor and Engineers of IRCON, directed the concerned authorities to restore  the road properly as it is of utmost importance for the under-construction USBRL project as well as large number of local population Mahu, Mangit and other surrounding areas.

The DC ordered the IRCON Railway to start construction work immediately on about 100mt of the sunken stretch of Nachlana-Khari- Mandakbas link road at Hirnihal to strengthen road connectivity in the area.

The DC also directed IRCON Railway to discuss the execution plan with Executive Engineer PWD to prepare a concrete Plan for properly maintaining the road at Hirnihal besides blacktopping the road from Nachlana to Mandakbas.  

He ordered that the whole stretch of Nachlana-Khari-Mandakbas link road upto portal of under-construction Railway tunnel be fully strengthened by way of anchoring, grouting and base strengthening besides proper drainage system for a long term and permanent solution.
