DC Ramban inspects sinking road at Gandhari, directs PWD to immediately start restoration work

Ramban, February 26: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam along with DDC Councillor, Shamim Akter today visited sinking area of Kanga- Gandhri road at kilometer 7 which has been damaged due to incessant Rain fall.

Executive Engineer, PWD, Vinod Gupta, Engineers, SHO Dharmkund, Firdous Ahmad and other officers were also present on the occasion.

The Deputy Commissioner has deputed Tehsildar Ramban as Nodal Officer for completing restoration work in a time bound manner to connect Gandhari block with district headquarter through road link.

The DC directed the Executive Engineer PWD to start restoration work of a 300 mts sinking road stretch which was affected during recent heavy rainfall.

The DC also directed the Divisional Forest Officer, Batote to remove all trees uprooted due to sinking of road. Executive Engineer JPDCL apprised the DC that the power supply has been restored in majority of areas in Gandhari block and restoration work will be started immediately after clearance of debris and fallen trees.

The Executive Engineer Jal Shakti department was directed to start restoration work on damaged water supply schemes.

After discussing the prevailing situation with DDC Councilor, Gandhari the DC assured her that the District Administration is monitoring the restoration operations and essential supply position besides making a provision for essential supplies through transhipment.
